Chema Zabala has more than 18 years of experience in the energy sector, specializing in energy markets, energy transition, and storage. He currently leads the Energy Transition area at Alantra, where he has advised on more than 12 GW of renewable, storage, and hybrid (wind, solar, and BESS) projects and managed international transactions in Europe.
As AEPIBAL’s Market and Regulation Director, he represents the storage sector before national and European institutions. An Industrial Engineer from ICAI and holder of a Master’s in Finance from LSE–IEB, he combines a strong technical and financial background to drive sustainable energy.
He previously held senior positions at SSE Renewables, was one of the founders of MRC Consultants (later acquired by Veolia), and worked at AF-Mercados EMI and Deloitte, always linked to renewable energy, market analysis, and sustainability.
